FYI, recent MS thesis from Florida Intl. University on glue-lam vs.
reinforced glue-lam  technology:

The following students completed theses with Dr. Thompson: Mr. Hector M.
Kinda, "Conventional
Glued Laminated Timber Versus Reinforced-Glued Laminated Technology";
Mr. James Roy
Rosales, "Seismic Analysis of Bridges"; and Mr. Mikhail Dubrovsky,
"Timber-Wood Applications
for Sound Barriers."

The following students completed theses under the supervision of Dr.
Tsihrintzis: Mr. Rao K.
Gadipudi (1994) completed the thesis ôEvaluating the Effects of
Agricultural Practices on Water
Quality by Interfacing GIS and Computer Models;ö Mr. Rizwan Hamid (1995)
completed the
thesis ôModeling of Nonpoint Source Pollution from Urban Stormwater
Runoff - Applications to
South Florida;ö Mr. Leonardo Rodriguez (1995) completed the thesis
ôApplicability of the Stream
Water Quality Model QUAL2E to Slow Velocity Subtropical Canals in
Florida." Graduate students
Marcia Levinson, Jose Luis Oliveros, Clara Sidan, Xiaodan Song, Alexis
P_rez and Edgar
Madiedo work on theses or engineering projects related to hydrodynamic
and water quality
modeling of wetlands, highway drainage culverts, hydrologic model
testing, optimization of
groundwater model input parameters, and water quality modeling of
tropical rivers. They are all
expected to graduate in Spring 1997.
