GBlist: Dream Home

Builders:

The "Dream Home" at this year's Home Show in Toronto was supposedly
constructed in 72 hours using this stuff by Actech-USA and distributed by
Affordable Building Concepts in Canada.

It is panels of 26 gauge metal skin and stiffeners (?) which combine
forming unit, vapour and air barrier, strapping and insulation, all in one
piece.

They claim:

- reduce energy consumption a minimum of 40-50%
- resistant to decay, fungus, moisture, mildew and insects
- fireproof
- contains no CFCs, HCFCs or formaldehyde
- withstands 170 mph winds
- certified by State of CA earthquake building code
- accommodates virtually any exterior or interior finish

Whaddya all think? Too good to be true? Has anyone actually priced
and/or worked with this product?

Any info would be welcome - thanks

Marilyn
