GBlist: window warranties, IG failures and tire tread...
"Help! I fallen into a performance rut and can't get out!"
....or so it seems as I try to figure out the disconnect between "claimed
warranty life" and "real world IG failure data".
The tires that I buy claim to be "50,000 mile warranty tires"... and they are
pretty d*@# important to my highway safety and fuel economy (window/glass
performance)....
Now I know the roads in my area (climate) are pretty rough (snow, ice, rain,
sun) and the mountains and valleys (peak loads) impact my actual fuel economy
(heating and cooling savings/costs) as well as how often I use my brakes
(powered) or coast (economizers, venting)....
So WHAT THE HECK if so hard about getting a decent warranty on my
windows/glass? I'm NOT a "tire expert" but I KNOW what PERFORMANCE to
EXPECT. But I have to become an expert at decifering the exclusions,
provisions, disclaimers and prorations on window warranties? GIVE ME A
BREAK....
End of Rant. Sorry for the "tire-ade." (and the poor pun...)
