As far as getting all the other groups on board. All I can say is
I've tried with all the groups _I_ was aware of including:
FreeBSD
KDE
GNOME
LDP
LKBP
OSWG
OSRT
RedHat
Debian
O'reilly Publishing (who have a discussion group on open docs)
then there are non-denominational people like myself.
I'm sure there are other groups that might be interersted.
Appologies if I've missed someone obvious out of the list.
I'm suffering from an overdose of acronyms right now!
I also strongly suspect that only half of the above groups are
represented. Still, you can lead a horse to water but you
can't make it think :)
There is a fine line between having everyone involved/reaching
a concensus and just doing it. (It is easier to get
forgiveness than permission :-) )
Being realistic what we should aim to do is invite many
but wait a bit until there are enough groups on board to
carry some weight.
Then produce solid results quickly and create a sufficient mass
to draw others in.
So how many groups is just enough ???
Maybe 30% of the relevant groups.
So lets quickly get a list of all the groups that we
think might be relevant.
If we don't get any more than we have now we might as carry
on regardless !?
TO DO NOW:
0) I've asked Deb to send me list of people subscribed to
this list. I assume the quiet ones among you won't
object to this being published. It is an open group
after all.
1) You all email names/links of other groups that should be
involved to Kim (me) and I'll summarise to the group
to keep traffic down.
2) All of you email me (ouch) and indicate your primary
affiliation (eg from the above list) and I'll combine
it with the subscription list
I hope we aren't going to get stuck in bureaucracy for long...
I think we should all go and read the link Sandy sent:
