I bought a feeder a few years ago, and squirrels never rob it. I think
it's called a "Mandarin" feeder. If you suspend it by rope or chain at
least 5 feet off the ground, they can't get to it. They can jump on top of
it, but can't get to the seed, and mine have never chewed the plastic or
the rope.
Only problem is there are but 4 'ports' for the birds, and for some reason
most birds prefer to feed on Yankee feeders, so the Mandarin (or whatever
it's called) does not service many individuals.
