Ridge Junction Migrants



Dwayne and I started our migration count today at Ridge Junction Overlook at
milepost 355.8 on the Blue Ridge Parkway.  (It is located next to the
entrance to MT. Mitchell.)  We were quite pleased with the results for this
early date in August.  On this date last year we had 19 species with 74
individuals.  Today we had 28 species with 109 individuals. (At the
overlook, we count both resident and migrant species.)  Here are the
results:

Indigo Bunting  2

Common Grackle  2 (new to the count)
