Enough about the tree rats already! This is Carolinabirds -- squirrels are
only marginally on-topic to begin with and the messages have been getting more
and more off-topic. Clyde Smith's message was right on target, but here are a
few more points:
- be careful about attempts at humor, irony, sarcasm, etc. by e-mail,
especially if you don't know the recipient well -- these are very easily
misinterpreted, even if you do know the recipient well! Use smileys :-) to
indicate humorous intent.
- never forward personal e-mails to the group without the sender's permission.
This has been the most serious breach of etiquette in the squirrel fiasco by
far.
- if you wish to insult somebody, it is better to continue biting your lip
until the urge goes away. If that's not possible, send a personal message, not
one to the group. People who persist in flaming will be removed from the
group.
- any future messages about this should be sent to alt.flame, not carolinabirds

P.S. I certainly hope I don't need Dr. Garrett's services any time soon! ;-)
