yard watching

while reading and watching birds, I was treated to a trio of Blue Gray
Gnatcatchers flitting from tree to tree hunting. Also had a great eye level
view of a Red eyed Vireo eating pokeberries I think. Also have 3 hummers
sipping from 3 sources: the mimosa, the purple buddlea and white morning
glory type flowers growing over at the compost pile. this is the first i've
seen them on white flowers. I think a Red shouldered Hawk flew over but it
was backlit so bad all I got was the outline.
At the gravel pit pond (NW Orange Co.), nothing but one Canada goose. No
killdeer, only sparrows I heard were field. Several Indigo Buntings chipping.
I am enjoying Attenborough's program.
