Not much action today. Visited the pond at the north end of Roanoke
Island about mid-morning. Lots of female redstarts, one pine warbler; no
signs of any other warblers.
Pea Island Boardwalk netted one Bay Breasted Warbler. The 'chained'
driveway at the south pond entrance revealed one Sandwich Tern amongst a
flock of Forster's snoozing on a mud flat, and about a dozen Avocet's
still presenting remnants of summer plumage.
The road to the trails and ramps at Cape Hatteras park are still closed
due to the storms, indeed, the road to the lighthouse is closed also.
