Hello y'all,
Checked the Conway sewage ponds this afternoon. Here's the list:
Pied-billed Grebe - 2
Dbl-crested Cormorant - 4
Great Blue Heron - 6
Great Egret - 4
Cattle Egret - 1 walking up and down the dikes, gleaning insects from
the vegetation, looking kinda confused. ;)
Green-winged Teal - 1
Ring-necked Duck - 11
Ruddy Duck - 17
Turkey Vulture - 2
Am. Coot - 1
Killdeer - 2
Ring-billed Gull - 16
Mourning Dove - 2
Belted Kingfisher - 1
Red-bellied Woodpecker - 2
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker - 1
Downy Wp. - 2
N. Flicker - 3
E. Phoebe - 1
Blue Jay - 1
C. Chickadee - 2
T. Titmouse - 1
C. Wren - 3
House Wren - 1
R-c Kinglet - 6
B-g Gnatcatcher - 2
N. Mockingbird - 1
Y-r Warbler - 12
Palm W. - 6
C. Yellowthroat - 2 (m & f)
N. Cardinal - 5
Song Sparrow - 3
Swamp Sp. - 1
W-throated Sp. - 1 (heard)
R-w Blackbird - 7
C. Grackle - 1
A small flock of what appeared to be Purple Martins flew over our yard
this a.m. Close behind were a dozen Am. Robins. Also watched a Sharpie
slipping through the trees, obviously scoping out the sparrows' fav
feeding spots.
