Dr. Barden and I began the day on the boardwalk off Mallard Creek Church
Road near Hwy 29. The sparrows included song, white-throated,and swamp. We
also had goldfinch, towhees, cardinals, a red-tailed hawk, flicker, house
and carolina wren. Next we were off to Coddle Creek for a rewarding
day...Hwy 73-south end.....ruddies, hooded mergansers, gadwall, black ducks,
Canada geese, bufflehead, green-winged teal, bald eagle, great-blue heron,
coots galore, pied-billed grebe, ring-necked duck, mallards, a pair of
red-tailed hawks, ruby-crowned kinglet.....Hwy 136-north end....shovelers,
mallards, great-blue heron, green-winged teal, ruddies, coots, cooper's hawk
