Folks,
As some of you might already know I`m legally colored blind. Well while on
the Chapel Hill CBC on December 24th I saw a total of 369 Cedar Waxwings
with the largest flock containing 250 birds. My most common bird species
on the count was Cedar Waxwing. I was only one party out of twenty parties
on the count so we might have a huge number again this year. I checked
last years results and the Chapel Hill CBC had 1177 waxwings about 12th in
the nation.
I managed to take several photos, ok more than a roll of film 36 exposures.
I shot till my arm was tired holding the camera with my 100 400 mm lens.
Well as I reviewed my slides I found 2 that clearly show orange tips in the
slides. I just about over looked these two slides as many of the other were
much better and I was about to discard them. The photos can be found by
clicking the bird link at my site http://www.rlephoto.com Looks like the
birding pages are coming together with photos of 5 NC rare birds and 16
other birds in the birds gallery.
