Morris Creek, 1/6/2001

In birding matters closer to home today, I spotted a lone female Pine Siskin
at the feeders twice today, a pale and lightly marked bird both times. I
couldn't be sure whether it was the same individual or not, but it seemed to
be. I hope she is the advance guard for a good flock of Pine Siskins. I
still have a bit of a stockpile of thistle seed left over from last winter!

Also at the feeders today was the season high number thus far for Dark-eyed
Juncos. I counted fifteen juncos this morning. They have been sparse so far
this winter.
