Re: Bond... James Bond
Ha! I can't resist that one. The real James Bond was an eminent
ornithologist who wrote Birds of the West Indies. Ian Fleming got the
name of the spy from the author of the book, having no idea that it
would become such a phenomenon. When the real Bond died a few years
back (1990???), the obituary related some of the story.
