About 9:30 this AM several birders from Charlotte were on the causeway
looking at a 2nd year bald eagle when of all things two sandhill cranes
soared into view. They circled the causeway are for about 5 minutes trying
to pick-up some thermals. They last seen heading southwest.
Gary I am sorry you missed these guys but they may be hanging out in a rice
field somewhere in your neck of the woods.
