Vulture Valentine Day

I have mentioned to this group before that black vulures typically
appear on the roof of our office building each spring. Today, as I left
for lunchtime errands, I noticed 4 black vultures soaring directly
overhead, then saw a pair of wings spread open on the edge of the roof.
I thought it might be a "get out of my territory" message to the others.
Then saw that guy mount a female who was also up there. An hour later,
when I returned, I glanced up to the roof and saw another coupling. Same
pair?

I guess that's Valentine Day love, vulture style!

Also, twice this week, a huge flock of hundreds of grackles has flown in
here, perching in the few trees and making lots of racket as they swoop
from place to place.
