Greater White-fronted Goose

There was an adult Greater White-fronted Goose seen in a small pond here in
Myrtle Beach this afternoon. The bird was first seen just before noon and
remained on the pond until dark. The pond is located directly behind what
was formerly Waccamaw Pottery just off of Highway 501. Although the
property on which the pond is located has been posted for some time, one
should be able to view the bird from a variety of locations immediately
adjacent to property. The bird was accompanied by thirty-five to forty
Canada Geese, a few Mallards and a pair of Mute Swans. A handful of Common
Snipe were also seen on the east bank of the pond. If anyone would be
interested in seeing the bird and would need additional information, feel
free to contact me at the address below.
