Several people have inquired about whether or not the Peregrine Falcons have
returned to Devil's Courthouse. They have and are displaying courtship
Devil's Courthouse is located on the Blue Ridge Parkway about mile "four
hundred twenty something". (Senior moment). Unfortunately the Parkway is
closed much of the time in winter so it may be a few weeks before you can
drive there. For the more energetic, the site is located about a mile north
of where Rt. 215 crosses the Parkway so walking in is not difficult.
The birds are easily seen from the parking lot with binoculars when flying.
A 'scope is a good idea 'tho because perched Peregrines can really blend
into the cliff face, especially if their back is toward the observer.
