Winston-Salem birding?

Have to attend a work conference in Winston-Salem in a few wks. at the "Graylyn International Conference Center of Wake Forest University", which I'm told is on some sort of 'estate' off the main campus. Not at all familiar with Winston-S. but hope to have a couple hrs. free for birding. Can someone familiar with the locale tell me if the 'estate' itself would be good for birding, or if some other convenient location nearby would be worthwhile.(not particular about what I see, just want to stretch my legs and see something).
