On The Commons – twice

David Bollier writes to announce his blog/whitepaper repository called On The Commons. David is a very sharp guy with some deep yet quick takes on various commons including fashion where borrowing is the rule. I dropped him a note about Malcolm Gladwell’s New Yorker article on plagiarism (or was it) called “Something Borrowed” and David had a considered reading online within a few hours.

At the same time, Slashdot was announcing the publication of Red Hat Magazine which features an almost accurate article about ibiblio called “Rock the Free World.” The best news that I saw from the article was that they decided not to include the dorky picture of an aging hippy that was taken in my office.
