Kellam's Good/Bad Web Sites

THE GOOD ONE
DIESEL CLOTHING: http://frith.7sohosquare.com/diesel/
I think Diesel's web site is a success because it's simple and gives you
quick (EASY) links to their clothing with exciting graphics that are
trendy and geared to their target audience. You can click on male or
female and find the type of clothing you are looking for (dresses, skirts,
shoes, etc.) or BROWSE for a text version of the lists. A picture of your
select garment pops up and you can find out what it is. It's easy to
their shopping locations around the world from the SHOPPING link. The
site is much like the Diesel catalogs and ads and maintains their logo
colors and signature modeling style. I believe that a more extensive site
would complicate and frustrate the user's experience. This site gets the
message across in a pleasing and concise manner.
I took a tour Real Time Studios in London (the company that made this
site) last summer. They've also done the Cannon site and many others. Most
of their web sites are good examples of successful web design.

THE BAD ONE
THE DUCT TAPE CAM PAGE: http://204.255.212.10/~jthorsse/dcam.html
I just really don't get this one. It's a camera on an aquarium with duct
tape in it. There are supposed to be updated pictures of it eating,
sleeping, etc., but they are all the same picture. There are links to duct
tape resources, but the site is basically boring in design and content. I
chose this one simply because it was the weirdest idea for a page that I
came across. Creative idea (?), but really lame.
