Privacy Issues

Amy's right about the Electronic Privacy Information Center--it's a gold
mine of links to resources dedicated to on-=line privacy. Other
pro-privacy (or at least pro-encryption) sites include the Internet
Privacy Coalition ( http://www.privacy.org/ipc/ ) and the Internet Mail
Consortium ( http://www.imc.org/ ).

In the middle is a site called "Open Standard Content Cookies: Utility vs.
Privacy" at http://cannibal.mi.org/~chad/oscc.html which is apparently
advocating encrypted personal data that would be processed through a
central clearing house to generate marketing information while protecting
individual privacy.

And if you really want to see lists, lists, lists--your name, my name and
everybody else's name for sale--check out Worldata
at http://www.worldata.com or Online & Multimedia Marketing at
http://www.onlineadvertising.com/newsletter/index.html They offer
articles on everything from customized television commercials to SPAM.
