Pro Privacy/No Privacy sites
"Anti-Privacy" site:
I agree with Amy that no one is going to come right out and say that they
are "against" privacy. However, the fact is that some businesses are fully
dependent on information--specifically, market research firms and online
advertising firms. But while people worry a lot about privacy on the
Internet, they don't seem to mind using the VIC card, which tracks every
single purchase, along w/demographics...
Doubleclick ( http://www.doubleclick.com/advertisers/privacy/ )
relies on cookies for info, but lets advertisres "opt out" of using
cookies. They also explain that no names/addresses are used for their
research.
"Pro-privacy" site--actually more of a moderate stance--calls for
"self-regulation:"

"The Online Privacy Alliance will lead and support self-regulatory
initiatives that create an environment of trust and that foster the
protection of individuals' privacy online and in electronic commerce."
