good webpage, bad webpage
The good page I'll analyze is http://www.citysearch11.com It's a
webpage focused on the triangle area announcing events and other things to
do. I visit this page often. Mostly to get the movie listings at
different theaters in the area or to look up directions to somewhere.
They also have newsletters that follow their columns so I get their new
restaurants and upcoming concerts emails.
I think this website is good because first of all, it's visually pleasing.
It's easy to look at and everything is in a nice neat catagory. The
search which I use the most is placed right at the top, very convienent.
The date and the temperature is right below the title bar which makes this
a nice background page to open to when I start Netscape. I can't comment
on the loading time since I'm using ethernet.
A page I visit but don't like is http://www.discovery.com It's the
webpage for the Discovery Channel. When I first go to the webpage, I feel
overwhelmed. The screen looks so busy that they even have icons
overlapping each other. I use the site to find more information on their
television programs, but instead they have their own content, seperate
from their television station. The first graphic on the page is a banner
which I hate but I understand I have to deal with them, it's a way to make
money. Again, I don't know how fast it loads but it does use frames to
keep from loading a new navigation bar each time.
That's all for now. Dallas
