electronic publishing
The last comment in class about Slate reminded me of a site I saw the
other day.

All text, compiles writing, mostly nonfiction, essays for now. You can
preview them, then, if you want to read the entire piece, you pay to
download it. Prices range from about 30 cents up to $1.99. From a business
perspective they claim it will work because authors receive about 70% of
price each time a sale is made-the publisher does okay because they aren't
paying big advances to an author or dealing with returns from bookstores
like in the traditional publishing world.
I thought it was kind of an interesting idea.
