Probably one of the most thought-provoking articles on this subject that
I've read lately is Todd Oppenheimer's cover story for the July 1997
Atlantic Monthly, "The Computer Delusion" Of course you can find it on

The on-line version has useful hyperlinks (even as it argues against
hyperlinks ;->) as well as references not found in the print version. Of
particular interest is a sidebar link to The American Prospect's Series on
Educational Reform and the New Media which I commend to those interested
