Thank you for your courteous reply. I may have come down a little
heavy on Churchill who had many admirable qualities. He was an
accomplished painter and creative brick-layer, for instance. I
particularly enjoyed his account of the American Civil War in his
History... and took some pains to visit some of the Civil War sites
he so vividly depicted, on a trip many years ago.
I am not judging Churchill in a spiritual sense - nor should I any
other human being for that matter.
While his view of history has the ringing - and admittedly brilliant
- assurance of a "winner" (there are other perspectives) his work is
a most entertaining read, and I hope you continue to enjoy it.
