CBS-IC has called the Editor-in-Chief's office

Hi, CBS-IC has called the Editor-in-Chief, Kenneth Y. Tomlinson's office, and
talked to his secretary Ms. Tracy Kelly about the upcoming article in
December's issue. She said she had been alerted by the Chinese American
community to this point, and certainly will pass the information to her
boss considering the possible adverse effect if there is any.

Editor-in-Chief, Kenneth Y. Tomlinson
(914)-244-5444 (voice)
(914)-238-0531 (fax)

CBS-IC is going to send another copy of fax to the above number. At this
point, CBS-IC wants to advice everyone who is concerned of this development.
Readers Digest has done nothing similar to that CBS report yet. At this stage,
we are only expressing our concerns, not protesting them. We must stress
that we do not want to see a CBS incident 2nd, portraying every Chinese who
comes to this land as potential spies. If Readers Digest publishes an article
on real spies and has non-biased tone towards general Chinese American, then
it is no problem with us. We are only cautioning them the possible stereotyping
ordinary Chinese Americans.
