1.  Road construction funds in the US largely come from the federal
government, and are thus funded by deficit spending.  In a technical
sense, the roads belong to your unborn offspring.

2. The larger portion of road and fuel taxes are paid by trucking
companies. Those costs are passed on to consumers.  In a technical
sense, the roads belong to purchasers of produce and furniture.
