Please note that Tom said "bumper-to-bumper at 200mph without incident", not
"surviving 200mph crashes". Driving safely is a matter of practice,
training, and alertness. If drivers aren't willing to exercise those three
skills, then they can practice their crashing skills instead (or,
unfortunately, make other people practice their crashing skills).
