I agree completely.  I used to ride, and the attitude that I acquired 
during that time carried over to my driving - I turn into a really
boring person when I sit in my car because I do nothing but drive.  
Another thing that I learned from riding is the importance of being 
seen; you want to be absolutely sure that the guy who's waiting to 
make a left-turn sees you when you enter an intersection.  I turn on
headlights when I feel that I'm going into a dangerous situation
even when I'm driving a car.

People's attitude toward driving sucks.  I go nuts when I see people 
occupying two lanes because s/he is too busy talking on a phone or 
looking at the passenger talking.  Can the 55 mph limit be blamed 
for encouraging poor and casual  attitude toward driving?
