hatecomp.wav -- Dr. Grant: I hate computers.
wherefun.wav -- Dr. Grant: Where's the
fun in that? (15k)
raptor.wav -- Dr. Grant: Well, maybe dinosaurs
have more in common with present-day birds than they do with reptiles.
Look at the pubic bone: turned backward, just like a bird. Look at the
vertebrae: full of airsacs and hollows, just like a bird. And even the
word 'raptor' means "bird of prey." (173k)
respect.wav -- Dr. Grant: Try to imagine
yourself in the Cretaceous period. You get your first look at this six-foot
turkey as you enter a clearing. He moves like a bird-- lightly, bobbing
his head. And you keep still, because you think that maybe his visual acuity
is based on movement, like T-Rex; he'll lose you if you don't move. But
no, not Velociraptor. You stare at him and he just stares right back. And
that's when the attack comes-- not from the front, but from the side, from
the other two raptors you didn't even know were there. Because Velociraptor
is a pack hunter, you see; he uses coordinated attack patterns, and he
is out in force today. And he slashes at you with this, a six-inch retractable
claw, like a razor, on the middle toe. He doesn't bother to bite your jugular
like a lion, see. He slashes at you here, or here ...
Dr. Sattler: Oh, Alan.
Dr. Grant: or maybe across the belly, spilling your intestines.
The point is, you are alive when they start to eat you. So, you know, try
to show a little respect.
Volunteer Boy: OK. (861k)
kids.wav -- Dr. Grant: Kids! You want to
have one of those?
Dr. Sattler: I don't want that kid, but a breed of child Dr.
Grant could be intriguing. I mean, what's so wrong with kids?
Dr. Grant: Oh, Ellie, look, they're noisy, they're messy, they're
Dr. Sattler: Cheap... cheap....
Dr. Grant: They smell.
Dr. Sattler: They do not smell.
Dr. Grant: Some of them smell.
Dr. Sattler: Oh, give me a break!
Dr. Grant: Babies smell! (249K)
whatdoing.wav -- Dr. Grant: What the
hell do you think you're doing in here? (21k)
Dr. Grant: Who in God's name do
you think you are? (24k)
kindpark.wav -- Dr. Grant: What kind
of park is this? (18k)
dinosaur.wav -- Dr. Grant: It's... it's
a dinosaur. (23k)
sayagain.wav -- Dr. Grant: Say again?
herds.wav -- Dr. Grant: They're moving in
herds! They do move in herds! (59k)
extinct.wav -- Dr. Sattler: So what are
Dr. Grant: We're out of a job.
Dr. Malcolm: Don't you mean extinct? (62k)
stop.wav -- Dr. Grant: Can't you stop these
world.wav -- Dr. Grant: The world has just
changed so radically, and we're all running to catch up. I don't want to
jump to any conclusions, but look: dinosaurs and man, two species separated
by 65 million years of evolution, have just been suddenly thrown back into
the mix together. How can we possibly have the slightest idea what to expect?
hunt.wav -- Dr. Grant: T.Rex doesn't want
to be fed, he wants to hunt. Can't just suppress sixty five million years
of gut instinct. (105k)
ok.wav -- Dr. Grant: You OK? (5k)
stayhere.wav -- Dr. Grant: Everybody
stay here. (11k)
favorite.wav -- Dr. Grant: <indecipherable
dinosaur name> She was my favorite when I was a kid and now I see she's
the most beautiful thing I ever saw.
tenacious.wav -- Dr. Malcolm: She's...
Dr. Grant: You have no idea. (59k)
drsattler.wav -- Dr. Malcolm: By the
way, Dr. Sattler-- um, she's not like available, is she?
Dr. Grant: Why?
Dr. Malcolm: Yeah, I'm sorry. You two are, uh...
Dr. Grant: Yeah. (133k)
touch.wav -- Dr. Grant: Hey, what'd I touch?
scared.wav -- Dr. Malcolm: Kids OK?
Dr. Grant: I didn't ask. Why wouldn't they be?
Dr. Malcolm: Kids get scared.
Dr. Grant: What's to be scared about? It's just a little hiccup
in the power, is all.
Dr. Malcolm: I didn't say I was scared.
Dr. Grant: I didn't say you were scared.
Dr. Malcolm: I know. (109k)
wheregoing.wav -- Dr. Grant: Well where
does he think he's going?
Dr. Malcolm: When you gotta go, you gotta go. (57k)
still.wav -- Dr. Grant: Keep absolutely
still. His vision's based on movement.
freeze.wav -- Dr. Grant: Ian, freeze! (19k)
dontmove.wav -- Dr. Grant: Don't move!
He can't see us if we don't move. (31k)
heleftus.wav -- Lex: He left us! He left
Dr. Grant: But that's not what I'm gonna do ... OK? (95k)
yourhand.wav -- Dr. Grant: Just give
me your hand! (14k)
climbing.wav -- Dr. Grant: The thing
about climbing is you never, never look down. (32k)
tree.wav -- Tim: Well, we're back in the
Dr. Grant: Well, at least you're out of the tree. (83k)
awake.wav -- Lex: Alan?
Dr. Grant: Yeah?
Lex: What if the dinosaurs come back while we're all asleep?
Dr. Grant: Well, I'll stay awake.
Lex: All night?
Dr. Grant: All night. (155k)
flocking.wav -- Dr. Grant: They're wheeling
in uniform direction changes, just like a flock of birds evading a predator.
Tim: They're, uh, flocking this way. (124k)
followme.wav -- Dr. Grant: OK-- keep
low and follow me. (31k)
power.wav -- Dr. Grant: I guess that means
the power's off. <grabs electric fence and fakes being electrocuted>
Lex: That's not funny.
Tim: That was great! (202k)
race.wav -- Dr. Grant: Come on guys, it's
not a race. (19k)
hello.wav -- Dr. Grant: Hello? (10k)
toast.wav -- Dr. Grant: Your hair's all
sticking up. Big Tim, the human piece of toast. (75k)
backsoon.wav -- Dr. Grant: I'll be back
soon. I promise. (22k)
phones.wav -- Dr. Grant: The phones are
helicoptors.wav -- Dr. Grant: Call
the mainland. Tell them to send the damn helicopters.
not_to.wav -- Dr. Grant: Mr. Hammond, after
careful consideration, I've decided not to endorse your park. (81k)
