Final Experiment: Invite her to a party.

Still scrutinizing hypothesis #1
|
One of the associates I sent the voice mail to was having a party to celebrate his getting a grant for a study he is currently leading. (Incidentally, despite several applications, I did not receive a grant for the Stephanie Study). I invited Stephanie and she accepted promptly. In order not to sway this experiment I kept the offer very informal and told her she can invite whomever she would like. It was decided that she would meet me at the party later in the night.
At 10:32, Stephanie showed up and I assigned my associate to keep a keen eye on her, although he refused to carry a note pad which raised my margin of error of his observations to 9%. For the next 41 minutes she stood by my side striking up conversation, joking very easily with myself and my friends. My hypothesis looked as though it would graduate to a theory by the end of the night. My associate noticed several light touches on the arm by Stephanie during this conversation (though he failed to keep an accurate tally), many laughs from her at all of my jokes, even the bad ones, and her ability to get along with my friends.
At 11:29 another group showed up who were clearly friends of Stephanie's. She ran up to them and brought them to me for a proper introduction.
One of these people was introduced to me as her boyfriend Stephen.
At first I thought that this might be a ploy to make me jealous, but I was clearly mistaken. Stephanie and Stephen had been dating for over a year and they couldn't be happier. This was set in stone when later that night Stephanie told me she enjoyed having a male friend that put pressure on her to make her bond with Stephen more romantic.
That next morning I woke up and after careful consideration, decided to reject my hypothesis. It was a long series of experiments but I'm much better for it. After all, by following the Scientific Method I did not get carried away with my emotions. Also, without the Stephanie Experiment, this will free up some time to test my new assumption;
The Practice deserves all of the Golden Globe awards it has received.

The experiment continues.

Final Conclusion: Watch The Practice.

Brian Hines is not actually a Ph.D. This article is a poor example of how to use the scientific method properly.
