Dear friends/members, A bhAgavatA friend of mine has asked me a question which I am unable to answer adequately. If anyone knowledgeable amongst you can help adiyane will be grateful. Where did Swami Desikan breathe his last? Was it in SriRangam or Kanchi? Or elsewhere? Is there a 'samAdhi' at the spot where the 'AchArya' shed mortal coils (similar to the spot in SriRangam where they say that RamanujAchArya spent his last moments on earth)? Like Ramanuja did in his final moments, did Swami Desikan also deliver a final sermon to his son or disciples? Is there any record of such a final sermon? Is there any record in the 'guru-paramparai' texts, or is there any personal account of NainachArya (or of any other relative/disciple) giving details of Swami Desikan's last moments? Who performed Swami Desikan's last rites and where? Adiyane knows DoddAchArya svAmi of Sholinghur wrote a biography of Swami Desikan but I am not able to recall if there is any mention there of the above matters. I wonder if there is any other biograhical source giving factual answers for the above questions. If learned scholars in the list know about it, please do shed some light. Thanks and regards, dAsan, Sudarshan __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! - Official partner of 2002 FIFA World Cup http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com
