Sri Sadgapaayyangar swamin has proved that he is a scholar and poet par
excellence if he would parden my audacity in commenting about hia
writings.Being a lover of nature I could exactly feel the excitement he must
have experienced.Actually when we were in UK, that is 34 years ago, we went to
Switzerkand on holiday adn when we were travelling in Bernese Oberland by bus
we had Alps on one side and large lake on the otherside.. It was so thrilling
and I could only think of the Lord who is magnificent like a mountain and
unfathomable like the ocean. At that time I didnot have present attitude and
knowledge but I was able to feel the Divine presence and lost myself. Now I
think that the scene was a reminder of His souseelya , audarya, gaambheerya and
soulabhya.
Being mightier than the mountain and unfathomable like the sea He becomes
soulabhya, easily accessible in His archavathara, through His vatsalya, as Swami
Desika wonders in Dayasatakam,'ammeeshaam nimnathvam vrshagiripatheh unnathim.'
He takes abode in every hill so that devotees can come to Him .I lack the
scholarly skill and wide knowledge of Sadagopa ayyangar swamin but I write
this because I could not resist saying a few word about the Lord, the subject
closest to my heart and emboldened by the thought, to quote Desika again
' amrtham yadhi labhyeth kim na grhyetha maanavaih.'
