swAmi nam-AzhwAr has celebrated for
having got the opportunity to serve the Lord-'vuRREAn
vugandhu paNi seidhu".
Similarly, thiurmangai AzhwAr
greatly appreciates his mind for having involved himself in service to the
Lord.
thirumangai AzhWar sees
around. Several souls think in contrast to vEdhic truths. They end
themselves in doom.
Sri kaliyan thinks aloud that all
this interest and involvement in this great bhagavath vishayam, interst-ruchi
are all because of the Lord.
This makes him happy and he
celebrates this fact along with his mind.- tham
thiru-vuLLathOdEa kUdi iniyar AgiRAr.
Who are those who think in contrast
to vEdhic truths?
This can be seen from the 5th, 6th
and seventh pAsuram
-buddhists: 'pongu bhOdhiyum, piNdiyumudai budhhar nONbiyar, paLLi-vuLLuRai.."
2-1-5;
These buddhists and samaNar-s
attribute prime importance to asOkA and arasA trees;
-The samaNar-s/amaNars- who shave
off their head-hair and who pamper their physical body by earting full; Oh!my
mind fortunately you have attained the service of the
Lord.
"thuvari Adaiyar mattaiyar samaN
thoNdargaL maNdi vuNdu pinnarum"2-1-6;
-The people who determine things by
only logic without vEdhic basis and push curd rice disproprotinate to their size
and devour with great difficulty and breed their physique.
"tharukkinAl samaN seidhu sORu thaN
thayirinAl thiraLai.." 2-1-7;
'Unlike these
souls,(thaRkar, samaNar, buddhar and the likes) Oh! mind, It is very fortunate
that we have ended up in serving the Lord. What a great
thing?'
This is the essence of the first thiru-mozhi of the
second ten, where AzhwAr again and again proclaims that he embarks on service to
the Lord with full interest and mentions in rejoices for this at the end of each
and every pAsuram:
Then, should we also in these groups - proclaim
with vigour :
