SrI: SrImathE Gopaladesikamahadesikaya namah: Dearest Srivaishnavas, Let us continue to enjoy PeyAzhwAr?s wonderful anubhavams on ThiruvEnkatam. Today?s verse on ThiruvEnkatam is the 73rd verse. idamvalam Ez pooNda iravitthE rOtti, vadamuga vEngadatthu mannum, - kudamn^ayantha kootthanaay ninRaan kuraikazalE kooRuvathE, naatthannaa luLLa nalam. 73 Driving the chariot with seven horses right and left [of thEr- chariot] the Sun rises and travels across the world? the charioteer is this Lord of ThiruvEnkatam?[says AzhwAr]. Who is that Lord? He is the one who had danced keeping the pot on His head.. Uttering the glories of his divine pair of Lotus Feet [meaning uttering His divine names] is the only befitting and good thing that [our] tongue should do. How does the Lord drive the chariot of the Sun? Because He is the indweller [antharyaami roopam] in all and directs them to act.. [bheeshOdhEthi soorya: bheeshaasmAdhagnischEndrascha- says Upanishad. Lord Sriman Narayana is the One who resides within the sun and directs him to function everyday.. this is also echoed in the following: Dhyeyah sada, savitrmandala, madhyavarti,Narayanah sarasijasana samnivistah Keyooravan makarakundalavan kiriteeHaari, hiranmayavapu rdhrta sankha chakrah [Does it sound familiar to us] We recite the above in our sandhyavandhanam everyday. The seven horses that the chariot has: Gayatri ushnik anustup brhati pankti tristup jagatyah chandamsi? The Lord cowherd Kutti KaNNan ? the One who had danced with the pot on his Head is the Lord of ThiruvEnkatam and it is the same Lord Sriman Narayanan who is the indweller of the Sun and directs his [sun?s] function. If the Brahmin gets rich, he performs more yagna. If the vysya (or the cowherd folks) get richer, they dance with pot on their head. Kudamaadu koothan] If the sudra gets rich, he wants to gets married again and again.. KaNNan having taken the avathAram in the Ayarkulam [being vysya], with such a sowlabhyam, dances with the pot? and enjoys being addressed as Kudamaadu kootthan. AzhwAr says: Oh Tongue, you should utter His divine names all the time. That is the only befitting thing. This is similar to KulasekarazhwAr's Mukunda mala: [verse 20] jihve kirtaya kesavam mura-ripum ceto bhaja sridharam pani-dvandva samarcayacyuta-kathah srotra-dvaya tvam srinu krishnam lokaya locana-dvaya harer gacchanghri-yugmalayam jighra ghrana mukunda-pada-tulasim murdhan namadhokshajam meaning: Oh tongue, praise the glories of Lord Kesava. O mind, worship the enemy of Mura. O hands, serve the Lord of Sri. O ears, hear the topics of Lord Acyuta. O eyes, gaze upon Sri Krishna. O feet, go to the temple of Lord Hari. O nose, smell the tulasi buds on Lord Mukunda's feet. O head, bow down to Lord Adhokshaja [from http://www.indiadivine.com/mukunda-mala-stotra.htm] AzhwAr ThiruvaDigaLE SaraNam SrI PadmAvathI SamEtha Sri Srinivasa ParabrahmaNE Namah: Regards Namo Narayana dAsan __________________________________ Discover Yahoo!
