Dear Friend,

I have decided to answer ur query in a very simple language. I might have over
simplified so for a good treatise I suggest u follow the advise of Sudarshan
swamy.

According to hinduism 'swarga' or 'Naakam' (another name for swarga) is a place
where there is no unhappiness. 'Naraka' is a place where there is always
torture & punishment & no happiness. Both swarga & naraka are controlled by
superior souls 'termed' Devas. They are called 'Kama rupis' too. It means that
they can assume any form they want. A 'punya atma' - termed as a soul which has
amassed lot of punya by good deeds is bestowed with enjoyment of the swarga
'called sawrganandam'. A papathma is destined to spend time in Naraka. All
these are to completely consume the earned punya or papa by the soul and then
the cycle of entering into a new 'Janma' starts for the soul. All these are
decided by the most superior soul the 'paramathma'. One can get out of this
vicious circle of cycles by only his grace & to work for it is to perform
supreme surrender to him & lead a life of his servant following his wishes &
dictats. This is the highest & everlasting bliss which he can bestow on the
'atmas' which is termed 'Moksha'. It is completely different from swarganandam
& here the atma attains the paramathma serves him & enjoys with him.

Gender is a gift given by nature & has got nothing to do with the anandams or
the cons which has been described above as Sudarshan swamy has put it aptly.
Every being in this world owing their birth have a prescribed way of life by
sastras which are to be adhered. Lord only looks at the adherence and not at
the gender or the caste for that matter. Lord has equal passion to all atmas in
the world and is interested that every one should attain him i.e. 'moksha'. He
strives for it & expects the 'atmas' to reciprocate.

Hindu society as a whole treats 'women' & 'men' equally. The first sentence for
a shishya from an acharya is "Mathru devo bhava" - looks as though women are
bestowed upon with even a slightly superior position.

I will stop here & allow u to reflect.

This is what I know from when I was probably 6 yrs old. Now at the
age of 26 I wonder what is in it for women?
What is supposed to be "SWARGAM" for women? Apart from praying for
their husbands and kids and ofcourse caring for home. What happens to
them after "after life"? If they are not loyal to their husbands they
go to hell, thats clear. How does Hinduism treat women in this matter.
If heaven and hell were created to impart fear in people then what
attracts women towards heaven? Is there anything related to this in
any vedas? How does heaven look in vedas or any other devotional
books?
I donot have much knowledge about vedas or manosastra, so, I will be
glad if any body can help out.

Any comments !!!
Swathi
