In context of this posting, here are a few sites where scanned books
are online and I have found quite a few books at the site " the
million book project". Here are a couple of downloads.

http:www.archive.org/details/BrihadaranyakopanishadBhashya
http://www.archive.org/details/SvetasvataradyopanishadPusushasukthaBashyaPart1
http://www.archive.org/details/PrapannaParijatamOfSriVatsyaVaradacharya
The Upanishads have commentary by Rangaramanuja Mahadesikan and a
condensed form in tamil at the beginning - this , I think, is by
Abhinavadesika Uttamur Sri Veeraraghavacharya Swamy.
The last one mentioned in the list is the very rare Prapanna
Parijatham! There are more at this site including ShriBhashyam.
But, sometimes the site is down and we have to keep trying.

There is another site http://www.sanskritweb.net/ from which rig and
yajur vedas can be downloaded. This one is dedicated to Shri Mukkur
Lakshminarasimhachariar.

There is http://ff.mum.edu/vedicreserve/ from which almost anything
and most of the puranams can be downloaded.
None of these are exclusive ShriVaishnava sites. So it is necessary
to have a site devoted exclusively to our sampradayam. And we do have
to work towards that.
A word about individuals who have rare works:
Usually they are devout Bhagavathas who are treasuring their
collection- so we have to earn their trust before gaining access to
them. It may also be necessary to explain what digitizing means, and
that their treasures are regarded as treasures by us also; and we are
trying to preserve them.

Also, there are libraries in the US which have out of print books.
Two of these that I know of are University of Illinois, Urbana
Champaign and Stanford University in CA. (I have heard that University
of Pennsylvania also has a collection). The university at Urbana
Champaign allowed us to xerox one of their books that was printed in
late early 1900's!
There are many professors in our community who may have access to
these- I hope they will use their connections for digitizing these books.
So, to quote Shri Sadagopan Iyengar 'Come, let us help in this holy
mission!' and let us make haste!
Digitizing is great- we get to keep our books and share them with
others also at the same time! Reminds one of the metaphorical 'cake'-
except we get to eat, keep, store and share all at the same time!
