Carr
Building (1900)
The
Carr Building was named for Julian S. Carr of Durham. Carr, a
graduate in 1864, gave the largest sum of money of its kind ever
given to the University at the time. The gift was primarily used
to fund the construction. Originally, Carr was a dormitory for
students, but now it is the home of study abroad offices.
