Phillips
Hall (1920)

Phillips was completed in 1920 for the School of Applied Science.
Before that time math and physics classes had been scattered around
campus. It still holds these classes today although 2 wings have
been added on. Phillips Hall is one of the hardest buildings on
campus to navigate through and it looks completely different than
the rest of the traditional bulidings. The reason for this is
that there was a blue print mix up and UNC got another school's
blue prints. By the time the builders figured out the mix up it
was too late! So, the original design for Phillips is actually
a building on another college campus and we have their's. We're
sure their students find the building just as difficult to navigate!
