Myths, Fabrications, Errors, Inaccuracies, and Omissions In the Accounts of of the Liberation of Dachau and Dachau Subcamps and Death March Rescues

The history of the liberation of Dachau is unfortunately and tragically mired in myth and fabrications along with good faith errors.

Some of the myths, fabrications, and errors are relatively harmless. Others cause harm. They are used by modern historical revisionist to deny the Holocaust and modern Nazis and sympathizers to create a false moral equivalence between U.S. war crimes and Nazi criminality. Spreading myths and fabrications disrespects and dishonors both the liberators and the liberated. Both deserve the honor and respect of having their stories told as completely and accurately as possible.

Responding to all of issues is beyond any capabilities of any organization or individual.

We share here those that have come to our attention. Harmful ones remain on our agenda for action.
