If you want to look at a resource to give you an idea how to put this list together see languagecourse.net and look up their vocabulary trainer. Their Greek course is Modern Greek but they include pronunciation and images for most if not all words. This might give you some idea how to illustrate the more abstract words.

For time-related words, at least, it does a great job of making abstract things concrete. This is cool.Michael W Abernathy wrote:If you want to look at a resource to give you an idea how to put this list together see languagecourse.net and look up their vocabulary trainer. Horace Knowles has some great sketches used for Bible publications. I believe they are published by the British and Foreign Bible Society. Such illustrations would be excellent, though they are copyrighted. If there was a similar set of illustrations that were creative commons licensed, I would venture to say that we create a set of flashcards having most vocabulary and ideas we need. Does anyone know of creative common licensed Biblical images?

While not limited to biblical ideas and vocab, Lexicarry is a great tool for language acquisition: http://www.lexicarry.com/ . Similar pictures with audio recordings could be excellent for students.
Just another idea.

I have an app for that, though I'm not sure it is exactly what you're looking for. http://www.dannyzacharias.net/flashgreek/David Carruth wrote:Hi all,
Does anyone have flashcard decks for Greek vocab that include pictures (and possibly audio)? I've seen a few discussions on this forum about creating such resources but I've yet to find a completed project. Do you have any suggestions for finding such a resource?

These are really nicely organized, and oriented toward hearing in a way that is useful. Erasmian pronunciation, natural sounding, in small lists by frequency so you can easily find the sets of words relevant to your level. (Many decks are frustrating because you have to work through all the very frequent words before you ever get to the ones you don't know.)Rogelio Toledo Martin wrote: ↑September 29th, 2015, 1:10 pm Hi! Hi all, first time poster here. I was googling around and have a story similar to David Carruth's. I am trying to learn Greek via Living Koine Greek (and have some experience learning another language with a similar methodology). I want to become fluent and teach my children (oldest 6 currently).
I know this thread is 4 years old but I am hoping to see if David Carruth is reachable via this forum as I would like to see if he has found (or developed) the resources he was looking for. Especially flash cards with pictures.
Thanks!

Just wanted to call your attention to the line that Barry added to your post before releasing it. According to B-Greek policy, all users need to use their real name to interact with the group, preferably with their academic affiliation (if they have one).
I'm not sure about the development of such a dictionary. I know that the one I have for Spanish is fantastic. It has pictures with Spanish and English labels on them, for so many topics.
