What author/work is the best entrance into drama?
A work by Euripides?
Thanks,
Tim

Re: Reading Recommendation: Drama
Euripides' 'Medea' has been a popular starter. Easy commentaries are available such as that by Geoffrey Steadman. There is a good scholarly one by Donald Mastronarde in the Cambridge Greek and Latin Classics series.

I totally agree. You can download Geoffrey Steadman. Don't bother with Bryn Mawr commentaries. I have the one on Ipegina at Aulis here on InterLibLoan from Reed College Lib. It is not nearly as helpful as Steadman's work. He knows what a student needs help with.Robert Crowe wrote: ↑July 11th, 2017, 7:50 pm Euripides' 'Medea' has been a popular starter.
