This was sent to me only but it was clearly meant for the list and its
concerns are ones I certainly share. Let's try to be precise in specifying
the focus of our messages sent to the list, please!

And while we're at it, how about trying to make subjects more meaningful
than some of the following that were seen in the last month or two:
"Request for advice"
"Question"
"Questions"
"Greek grammar"
"request"
or simply no subject at all.
None of these tell me whether I want to open them and read the body of their
text, and they certainly don't help when searching the archives. Writing a
subject line that actually describes the subject of one's message is much
more likely to bring useful responses.

May I urge list-members to be more careful about subject-headers in
messages sent to the list? The last three messages concerning 1 Peter 2:8b
were piggy-backed onto the thread on Acts 7:26a; this week's readers will
probably recognize this, but that won't help those who consult the archives
by text references in subject-headers and will miss these messages because
their subject-header is misleading. I would suggest that a little care be
taken over wording of the subject-headers when introducing new issues or
shifting the focus in a response to an ongoing thread. We'll all have
reason to appreciate cooperation on this matter.
