I'm studying Greek on my own using New Testament Greek for Beginners by J.
Gresham Machen. And I also have Fundamental Greek Grammar by James W. Voelz.

I started studying it with my Pastor, but I was the only one going. Felt bad
so am doing it on my own. So far, so good. Thank the Lord!

I'm on participles and would appricieate input. I've read both books on it,
can you make the concept a little easier to understand?
__________

That's a rather open-ended question that I doubt can be answered very simply
since I have no Idea what problem(s) you may be having with the concept. I
would suggest that you try reading material from another grammar on the subject.
 Smyth is a good source on most such matters. Here is where you can find his
discussion of participles

You can (and should) refer to him on many matters regarding Greek. Here is
the Table of Contents for Smyth

ayout=&loc=1&query=toc

There are many on the list who will be more than happy to help you, but the
list is geared more toward dealing with specific passages and their problems.
You will find that Dr. Conrad (affectionately known as Carl) is quite
knowledgeable.
