While there is no inherent meaning in any particular word, there is a 
conventional meaning.  I am reminded of the story of Abraham Lincoln who is 
supposed to have responded to a question "If we called a tail a leg, how many 
legs would a dog have" with the answer that it would still have four since 
calling a tail a leg doesn't make it one.  I think you're getting too cute by 
half.
