Dear Mike,
Betz in his commentary on Galatians (Hermeneia series) calls them
superscriptio, adscriptio, salutatio, and calls the whole section v. 1-5 the
epistolary prescript. He mentions a bibliography in Conzelmann's 1
Corinthians, 19 nn 6,7 and J. Fitzmyer, "Some Notes on Aramaic
Epistolography," JBL, 93 (1974)190-231, and a couple other sources.
