Juneau on its recent return to Long Beach, Calif., from the Far East was the lovely Warner Brothers' star, Doris Day. During Miss Day's three hour visit aboard the Juneau she was escorted by a 16 man host committee, made up of a representative of each division aboard ship. Doris was guest of honor at dinner in the crew's mess hall and spent time visiting with crew members as she made her tour of the veteran cruiser." "She is pictured here holding a bouquet of red roses just presented to her by Bernie W. Boyer, PN3, left ..., on behalf of the Juneau crew. The bouquet was made up of 16 roses, one representing each division aboard ship. James E. Stanford, SN, ... looks on."
