Kikuzuki

(Japanese Destroyer, 1926-1942)

Beached in Purvis Bay, Florida Island, Solomon Islands, after being salvaged. Photograph is dated December 1944.
She had been sunk on 4 May 1942, when USS Yorktown (CV-5) planes raided the Tulagi area.
Note her triple 24-inch torpedo tubes (12th Year Type) at right; 12cm/45 caliber gun (3rd Year Type) between her stacks and torpedo reload box alongside the after smokestack.
